Vet's Day 9

Norfolk Junior High Staff and Students took time to celebrate our veterans November 10th. Many students entered a contest about what Veteran’s Day means to them. We got to see the winners with their amazing works of art. First Place was Maddox Weckerle Dietz with her drawing of soldiers at Iwo Jima. Second Place was Pareena Ponniah with her drawing about Heroes In Disguise. Third Place was Kirsten Schmuecker with a poem entitled Veteran’s Day. NJHS Band, Orchestra, and Choir all performed patriotic songs. We had a trivia contest with students and staff, and we heard In Flander’s Fields from Kelcie Painter. Thank you to all Veterans for your sacrifices!

NJHS Students Learn Cooking Skills

Friday, November 17th, 2017

November 15th, Mrs. Miller’s 21st Century Living classes did a little cooking. They made biscuits, omelets, and 5 different main dishes. Students were proud of how everything turned out and learned some valuable lessons. Such as how to cut up chicken correctly, how to get a flaky biscuit, and how to make a fluffy omelet. They all got to enjoy the end result. Delicious!

Todd Green Performs At NJHS

Thursday, October 12th, 2017

The Norfolk Arts Center provided the Junior High with some instrumental entertainment on October 11th.  Todd Green came and wowed all of us with his amazing instruments. We learned a lot about the instruments from different countries. They not only look different, they sound different, and most times you hold them differently to play them. Thank you Norfolk Arts Center for bringing Todd Green to the Junior High!
