6th Grade:
4th place was Monica Houston,
3rd place ribbon went to Emma Essig
2nd place ribbons went to Alberto Hernandez, Waku Wright and Aaron Wilken.
1st place and BEST OF SHOW for 6th grade was Haleigh Griffith’s watercolor tree.
7th grade:
4th place was Ahmad Qattea and Myles Bailey,
3rd place ribbons went to Mariah Abitua, Mckayla Schroeder-Hunt (x2), Alyssa Gragert and Michaela Heimes.
2nd place went to Rachael Chelborad, Cody Duel, Alyssa Gragert and KarenSue Follette.
1st place ribbons were earned by Rachael Chelborad for her paper carousel and Makella Meyer for her self portrait collage.

Girls Basketball

This past weekend the 7th grade “A” basketball season finished the perfect 12-0 season by winning the Fremont Tournament. In their first game they defeated La Vista Jr. High 37-24. Jaycee Bradley with 13 points and Michaela Heimes with 12 points lead the team. Taylor Thompson and Skylar Johnson each had 5 points and Leah Larson had 2. Other stats not take for that game.

In the Championship game Norfolk defeated Papillion Jr. High 35-20. Leading the Panthers to victory was TaLeah Williams with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assits. Leah Larson and Michaela Heimes each ahd 6 points. Heimes also added 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Larson added 4 assists and 2 rebounds. Taylor Thompson had 5 points and 5 rebounds while Layne Mitchell had 2 points and 4 rebounds and Skylar Johnson had 2 points and 7 rebounds and Jaycee Bradley recorded 5 assists.

The Ladies had an amazing season finishing 12-0.

The Norfolk Middle School Girls “B” Basketball Team ended their season finishing third at the Fremont Tournament this past Saturday. In the first game Norfolk was defeated by Papillion Lavista 35-23. Marian Abitua and jayden Roberts were the leading scorers with 5 pts. Other scorers were Jaycee Burival 4, Celeste Reinke, Kaitlin Strong, and Katie Zobrist
with 2 pts, and Taylor Novak with 1 pt. Jayden Roberts was the leading rebounder with 8
and Taylor Novak added 4 steals.

In the consolation game Norfolk avenged an earlier defeat by Fremont defeating them 44-7. Leading scorer was Katie Zobrist with 8. Other scorers were Jordynn Holmberg, Celeste Reinke, and Mariah Abitua with 6 pts., Jaycee Burival, Jayden Roberts, Maddy Buettner and Kaitlin Strong Strong with 4 pts and Taylor Novak with 2 pts. Mariah Abitua led the team with
8 rebounds and Jayceee Burival and Katie Zobrist added 6and 5 steals each. Kaitlin Strong also
had 5 assists. Norfolk B;s end their season by going 7-4.

Lady Panther’s

The Norfolk Lady Panther “A” team continued their season with 3 big wins in Yankton this past weekend. In their first game Norfolk defeated Yankted 30-29 on a final free throw made by Jaycee Bradley. Jaycee lead the team with 16 poits10 rebounds and 6 steals, Skylar Johnson added 6 points and 6 rebounds. Leah Larson and Michaela Heimes both added 2 points and 5 rebounds and TaLeah Williams, Layne Mitchell and Malia Gass added 2 points each.

In the second game Norfolk A’s defeated Mitchell SD 43-29. Norfolk’s entire team helped create this victory. Jaycee Bradley lead with 10 points and 8 rebounds, TaLeah Williams added 9 points and 3 rebounds and 3 steals, Leah Larson added 8 points, 3 assists and 6 steals, Michaela Hemies had 6 points, Skylar Johnson added 3 points and 3 rebounds, Ashton Lindsay, Layne Mitchell, Tessa Koerting added 2 points and Malia Gass added 1.

In their final game Norfolk’s outstanding defense took them on a 4th quarter 21-0 run to defeat Harrisburg 46-28. Jaycee Bradley had 21 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds. TaLeah Williams added 11 points and 3 steals, Michaela Heimes had 10 points and 4 steals, Layne Mitchell had 2 points and 3 rebounds, Skylar Johnson had 1 point and brought down 5 rebounds and 2 steals, and Leah Larson had 1 point 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Lady Panthers are now 9-0 and will travel to Fremont on Thursday to play the Tigers.

Congratulations to the Norfolk “B” team for winning the Yankton Tournament this past

balanced scoring attack with Molly McNally, Taylor Novak, Kaitlin Strong, Katie Zobrist,
and Maddy Buettner with 6 pts. Other scorers were Jaycee Burival 5, Jayden Roberts 4,
and Mariah Abitua with 2.

In the second game Norfolk started slow, but came on strong to defeat the Mitchell B’s
38-17. Norfolk was led by Jayden Roberts with 10. Other scorers were Kaitlin Strong 8,
Mariah Abitua 6, Katie Zobrist 5, Molly McNally 3, Taylor Novak, Morgan Reinke and
Madison Buettner with 2.

In the final game Norfolk defeated Yankton B’s 47-19. Katie Zobrist and Taylor Novak
were the leading scorers with 10 pts each. Other scorers were Morgan Reinke 7,
Jaycee Burival, Jayden Roberts, Kaitlin Strong, Mariah Abitua with 4, and Molly McNally
and Madison Buettner with 2 pts each. Norfolk B’s record now stands at 6-2. Next game
will be Thursday at Fremont.

In 7th and 8th grade girls basketball intramurals team 2 defeated team 1 by a score of 24 to 20, team 3 defeated team 4 by a score of 25 to 24, and team 5 defeated team 6 by a score of 14 to 8.
Leading scorers for team 1 were Arria Lakha with 14, Paula Dowdy 4, and Caitlyn Ingram 2.
Team 2 leading scorers were Celeste Reinke 8, Mary Rowley 6, Morgan Reinke and Sierra Hewitt 4 points a piece and MaKayal Bynum added a bucket.
Team 3 leading scorers Bailey Lienemann 14, Lizette Alacron and MaKayla Schroder 4, and Haylea Frisk and MaKella Meyer with 2.
