Bel Air Kindergartners culminated their study of apples by visiting Deck and Slahn Apple Orchard on October 4. Students learned about the different kinds of apples grown at the orchard. They were able to pick apples from the trees, see how the apples are sorted, tour the building where the apples are stored, and look at the machine that makes apple juice. They also enjoyed a treat of cookies and apple juice. Later that week, Mrs. Leuthold and Mrs. Wells used some of the apples from the orchard to make applesauce in their classrooms.
